Popped A Sub - What route should I go

Pretty sure I damaged a sub today in my wall. I played a chopped and screwed version of Put On, and my box being tuned @ 40, didnt like it. After the song I noticed on high volume you can hear a "clap" mechanical noise form one of the subs on some songs, pretty noticeable, coils still read fine though. Assuming I just overexcurted it??

Anywho, Im thinking of changing setups. I still wanna keep a wall, but Id like to switch to 8" aero's, and go with a fiberglass box to utilize wasted space on the sides of my box over the wheels wells so the box wont have to go as deep.

Id like this box to be fairly permanent, and I can just change/upgrade equipment that runs in it.

Its either I still with the subs I have, and go with 2 15"s. Or I can try out 2 of the new Mach 5 MJ18M. Both boxes would need to be about 10-12 cubes.

Id like to go aeroport, with 3 8" aeros. Tuned to say 30hz (never had a low tuned box) with the ability to plug a port to get a higher tune. I listen to mostly rock (korn, rise against, NIN etc) BUT still want to be kicked in the chest with bass, and want to be able to shake the doors off still

I would be keeping my Visonik V4000xd which is modded to run @ 1ohm and does 3000+

tune lower next time like 33 hz

that would be sick still you should have tuned to around 35 hz

I just went with DJ's recomendation to tune @ 40 to get high output, and play good kick drums since I dont listen to much rap. And the wall was loud as sin. But Im curious what a 30hz setup would sound like (never heard one, theres nothing in my area) and I dont really know which to choose between the new MJ18M or just keep the subs I have. And the plan was to do 3 aeros, so I could plug one for a higher tune

I could always use 3 of the 15's I have, since I think only one was damaged, but there dual 4, so I could only wire em down to 2.66 + rise = not giving them enough power.

you could always have a change able port just held in with a lot of screw and have 2 seperate ones one tuned higher for the rock and such and the other tuned low for the bassier tracks

which AQ's you running?

also tune around 40Hz+ with the aero's and just plug one to drop tuning when you get "stupid" and decide to play crap rap LOL

My wall is tuned at 41Hz since I mostly listen to rock/metal, but I have a port reducer that drops tuning to around 35Hz. I run HDC's and it works out very well that way...

Ive got the SDC 2.5's, only rated for 600, but the MJ 18 isnt rated for much more
