polyfill question!

cant the air moving around inside the box blow the polyfill apart and get stuck in the sub n crap??
No it wont, and the polyfil will also add some dampening to the system which increases the sound quality, not to mention giving the sub the perception of a larger box

P.s. I've used polyfil in every enclosure i've used (Roughly 11) with no problems. just keep it clear of the pole vent and your straight
thats what im sayin though...wont little pieces come loose over time and get in there...

Also if it gives the sub the perception of a bigger box, won't that change the power handling a little bit?

Edit: you're swapping out a 15" Q for a TI?

polyfill comes in sheets as well as loose packing material. Heres a pic of the sheets:

Not much in terms of affecting the power handling, If im not mistaken 1 lb of polyfil gives an appearance of having .5 cu ft more. in terms of it coming apart, i've never had any polyfil get ino any of my woofers. Even ones that have been in for over 3 years. So I wouldn't forsee any issues

Yeah I had a TI before the Q but it had a bad voice coil even had the box made it, but I sent it back to the seller and when i got the refund I got the Q, and I found a great deal on ebay that I couldn't pass up. I just want a little more low end, and dont mind giving up output

ahhhh ok... i was thinking of like the pillow stuffing stuff
it also does come in the form of pillow stuffing as well, but does not come apart easily at all, its not like cotton candy, you really have to pull it pretty hard for it to come apart. Some people also use glue on the inside of the box and stick it to the walls

so which do you think had better output?
im really not sure, i tested the one voicecoil when i had the TI and it moved ALOT of air and sounded very clean with very little distortion. My brother has a tc 2000 doesent get as loud as my Q but gets lower, so im thinking the TI is higher than the 2000 so it should get lower and louder than the 2000 so i'll know this weekend
