Constant ringing in my ears, and its harder for me to hear people talking when there is background noise.

Part of mine is probably from shooting guns though.

the reason why lower frequncies have a lower pain threshold is because of the equal loudness countors. take a look at that graph and you can easily see how our ears perceive loudness at different freq's. also just because a freq. has a lower pain threshold, doest mean its doing less damage

you sure your not hearing overtones and undertones that are created from the fundalmental? if you listen to 18k sine wave you can hear all sorts of undertones.

I notice I had better hearing in my right ear as opposed to my left. So if I am on the phone and I am using it up to my right ear I can hear you fine but may have a little trouble on the left.

Not sure if it is due to listening to systems for about 15 years or maybe using q-tips daily but there is a definite difference and I have never really been that loud (My guess would be always under 140db)

after listening to a loud system for awhile my left ear allways pop's and gose completely deff in that ear... not good...

but my dad is allso legaly deff in his left ear.. i was raised on walking with him to his right so he can here me talk....

q tips are bad. the wax in your ears keeps insects from crawling inside your ear. the wax is like naturall bug repellant!

i am deaf in my right ear. ear drum collapsed when i was 4. my dad went completely deaf and got a cochlear implant and he can hear again. amazing stuff.

I used to have better hearing......................when I was like 15, lol!

That's not why Q-tips are bad you whacko. They're bad because by using them, you risk puncturing your ear drum as well as knocking off the little hairs that sense sound waves (they don't grow back).
