I said in general as it relates to this forum. Read moar.Do I really have to break down the anatomy of the ear???
Actually I wouldn't mind, I have to do a presentation on hearing loss on friday, so that would probably help somewhat. Subscribed just in case you decide to do so.

Look at the image above.
See the ear lobe?

Imagine a zillion hair strands that can detect sound waves between there and the ear drum.

In lamenz terms (because I can't tell if you are serious or not) The higher notes are caught towards the ear lope side. The lower deeper notes are caught by the ones closer to the ear drum. The lower ones **** the higher ones up all the way to the ear drum. Simple sound waves mang.

Was that simple enough or do I need to go tech?
Hm thank you, and yeah I was serious, lol. I am teh **** when it comes to these things though. Mind if I quote you as "Spider Monkey from CA.com" in my presentation? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Please do, so I don't have to sue your teacher and listening students.
No need to say where I'm from though. Spider Monkey is sufficient. I don't represent anything but myself.
Haha alright sounds good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It'll probably confuse everybody listening, but hell, that keeps things interesting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif!

Indeed. You can also tell them I'll kill them for not listening.
Ooo, a bit of fear as well, that should fit in there nicely. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Now, would you be considered a 'reliable source'? I'd say so, I mean your spider monkey, man of the epic sigs, your as reliable as they get.

no hearing loss here.

I read that when you feel the pressure on your ear drum...that is creating scar tissue..and once its is created, it doesnt go away, leading to hearing loss...slowly but surely..

Treble is what will make you lose your hearing the fastest....for those of you who like your tweet set on +5

Not really. Hearing loss has nothing to do with the frequency, it's about the dB level. if a 40hz tone and a 4khz tone are both being played at 140db, they'd cause equal amounts of damage. It's just that the human ear perceives lower tones to be quieter than higher frequencies, which usually means people will play the low tones louder.
this is true. i talked to an audiologist about this that came to my recording school..
