polk audio vs. alpine

im looking at polk audio speakers and alpine speakers for the front looking at component which should i go with?

polk audio definitly dude...

i have the DB6500 and i love them

and dont get my wrong, i love Alpine, i have my two cars with Alpine HUs, and 2 alpine AMPS..

and the Alpine speakers sounds great, but the Polks sounds better

I personally like the sound of Polks better than Alpines, but both are decent

Is there any reason why your stuck on just those two brands?

Dollar for dollar, Alpine.

The only Polk speakers I like are the SR series, but they are expensive. See if you can get the Alpine reference or Pro series.

alpine makes a reference and pro series? never heard of them. i have the type r comps and they are ok. not great, but not bad.

i have owned both and the Polk speakers sounded better to me, but the alpines are good speakers as well.

I think the Polks sound better.

don't know what price/model you are looking at, but crutchfield has polk db series coaxials on sale for a really nice price

Ugh. I called last month and the lady said November (as in this November). I could tell by the way she said it she had no idea when they would come out.

I like the fact they require

I had a couple sets of polk 4x6's loved the sound of the highs the mids were not so great but I didn't have them installed correctly by any means. Heard some Alpine comps not so impressed...a big fan of Alpine H/u's though.
