polk audio db1222 Vs. Alpine type R's

This guy is just going to recommend junk that he sells. The Type R's are great subs for the money.
this guy is just a moron everyone that knows anything knows that type R's get loud and thats it. type x on the other hand is geared for sq the r is just all hype and they do get loud but it stops there.

if you want really good sq IDq, MBQuart, FiQ ect....

^ well, Im looking for something that gives of nice tight bass and will give of thick bass without getting sloppy,

I produce, DJ, and listen to a lot of house and techno, so sq and loudness is a must....but again I live in Canada, and we dont have all the options you have in USA, we have options like alpine, and polk audio....so that's why im asking which system is better, and now everyone wants to sell me stuff, lol

if you want sq stay away from the alpine r series that is fact

i am not trying to sell you anything at all

the polks have a very good punch and are very good for sq it is what they are made for specifically. if you have access to polk or can get type x do that.

I have a Polk sub and it sounds great for techno. The bass is tight when it needs to be and almost creamy thick when it gets a little lower. The SQ is great.

My buddy swears by Type R's. He has 2 in his buick regal. They get loud as hell in the right box with enough power, but I personally think they sound like shit.

i love the polk box. ive owned it myself. much louder than i thought it would be. sq was great, and it didnt take up much space either.

i have also owned the type r's, and they were a bit louder, but thats because i was able to throw more power at them.

i prefer the polks because they were able to get that "upper kick" i prefer for metal music, i was lacking that with the r's, but that could have been my box.

i have 2 type r 10's in a 2.5 cubed box at 32hz ran off a jl 1000/1v2, and i love it. i dont think it gets sloppy, i have definately heard better sq subs, specifically the ID's, but for what the OP is looking for, and what he has access too.....i think he would be real happy with the r's ran off that alpine amp.
