ok i have a mono 1000 watt sony amp i have 3 4 ohm subs hooked up to and it is sopposed to be 1 ohm stable ok anyway i was driving and all of my subs shut off when i looked the 3 25 amp fuses in the back of the amp were fried i got new ones and now the overload protection wont go off i even un hooked my speaker wires. did i fry it? is it fixable?

did you check the fuse under hood? i had this problem the other day try un screwing the ground remote and power then let it sit for like 2 mins then hook it back up let me know if it dosent come on i would send it in 2 sony to have it fixed if its under warrenty:banghead:

Hmm...if the fuses were blown, your amp is probably OK. Read in your manual, in troubleshooting or what the lights mean, and see what they say to do to remedy the problem. It's also very possible that something could have gotten shorted out. Check your speaker connections and anything hooked to the amp. If you still have a problem, contact Sony for sure.

First thing. Sony amps are NOT 1ohm stable!! Sounds like the amp is fried probably from overheating, possibly from overworking. Go out and get yourself a new amp unless you have enough cash to go and get this one repaired. Only other real option would be to contact sony and see what they say, but I am doubting if it is not under warranty anymore that they will be of much help at all. Best of luck and sorry to be a bearer of bad news.
