plans needed for 15" mag

i need a box design for a 15" SI mag

i believe that SI website calls for 3.5 cubes ported tuned in the low 30's

what has everyone else used/heard/liked

my MAX width is 42"

height is 17" to the top of the rear seat

24" ish to top of the headrest

i would like to keep the box smaller in the depth department but no so much that it will be likely to tip over

i believe the mounting depth is 8"

please post here if youve heard a setup you liked and what the size and tuning of the box was.....the build will be this saturday...as well as putting in some 0 gauge and a SAZ1500D

I am feeding my 12" (2.1@31) 850 watts and it laughs, I can tell you that much. I don't know about 1500, but over 1000 DD is definitely doable IMO.

how much port area do you guys think i should do?...and minimal port width?

i'd do 56in^2. port width...depends on the size of the box...

It depends far more on the driver. While enclosure size does play a small role, the driver and power used is far more important.

This that people keep throwing around about "oh use 16 in^2 per cubic ft." is just something DD uses to simplify the design process for people who don't know how to design enclosures for DD drivers. Many subs don't need that much port area, even if the enclosure is large.

ok...figured i want to work with a width of around 20....a dept of 14 and a height of 18....what do you guys think of a port that is 3 inches wide...20 long so i have 49.5 sq inches of port? enough?

box is tuned to 30htz
