Plans for my civic :)

i live in Tampa, Florida.
The sony is single din
Your dash can acomadate a double din though. The 1996-1998 Civic's were single din radio slots. They changed the position of the A/C controls to the left side in the 1999-2000 Civics. Unless I cut my dash up, and relocated the A/C controls, I can only use a flip out or a single din.

Yours is like this:

Mine is like this:

Yes, LOL

I actually just found one like yours on eGay, but for $140 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

They just swap out with the retaining clips/screws.

If you want to work something out, let me know, I'll give you cash and install mine into your car. I'm around Tampa alot for work.

Did you get the components with plans to replace the factory tweeters by any chance? I am still trying to figure out which component set tweeters will best replace the factory tweeters in my 1997 Civic EX Coupe. It is kind of sad that I am letting that hold up my whole install, especially when I already have a decent set of Alpine aftermarket coax speakers that will work until I decide on components....
ETA: My system specs

Head unit: Alpine CDA-9885 w/iPod cable

front doors - thinking Alpine SPR-17s comps at the moment; already have SPS-600 coax in there

Front stage amp - Linear Power 1502IQ (already have)

Rear deck - delete speakers all together and put foam under my deck to stop the GD rattle (I hate rear fill)

Sub - 12" ported Kicker Solo-baric L5 (already have it, two buyers backed out... grr)

Sub amp - Crossfire BMF1000D @ 2 ohms (awaiting arrival)

Battery - Kinetik 1400 HC (already have, awaiting techflex to upgrade my grounds for the Big 2 of 3)

Lastly, I am keeping the factory alternator and will replace it with a HO alternator when it dies as well as finish the last leg of the Big 3!
I'm running to Alpine type r 6.5" components in my 99' civic ex. The tweeters fit pretty flush into the stock location with the help of a little glue to hold it in. I'm running the Alpine type s 6x9's in the rear and have a pair of o2 super tweeters hooked up. The tweeters sound amazing with my alpines. The type r's are getting around 100 rms each and the supertweeters and type s's recieve about 50 rms each. At high volumes they absolutely scream and sound amazing doing it. I think it has alot to do with installing my prs-880.

Good luck with the install OP, if you need anymore tips or advice just let me know. Not sure if you stated your budget or not, but I'm sure we could point you in the right direction for the most bang for your buck.
