Well if everything goes to plan, I will be getting the job sometime in the spring. Maybe sooner.
I can get around $16-$18/hr, and will be finishing my stereo.
I've never done a 'large' stereo before. My previous setup was a 300W kenwood amp, two old Pioneer 12s, a 500K farad cap... nothing fancy. but I've learned alot since then.
I have a few questions since I'm sitting here bored.
this will be a 'budget' setup.
I plan to pickup two SAZ-3000Ds from dB-r when I get the money saved up and some employment.
I was planning on welding up a mount to fit my 2.2L four cylinder engine in my truck, and hanging two AD244 alternators from it. I was thinking two 145 amp versions would be enough for two SAZ-3000s, but I'm not sure. Will two stock 145 amp alternators feeding only the batteries I don't have in the back yet, be enough? I'd go with a HO alt or two, but cost. Shipping and exchange rate are a factor too. I'm in Canada.
Next issue. Battery Bank.. well I guess you can call it that.
Not sure how many batteries I was gunna use. I don't have many options.
Was going to buy 3-4 D3100 12V Powermasters from somebody stateside, cheapest shipping I could find was $1000 via UPS. Too much money.
Yellow tops locally are $350 bucks.
at a Costco 5hrs away from where I live, there around 160-180, depending on size.
If I go with Yellow tops, I'd probably get the 55ah ones. Would 4 of those be enough?
If not, I was thinking of importing some Chinese batteries for mysellf.
Found a supplier, 12V deep cycle sealed lead acid batteries, 125ah for $85 shipped. I'm thinking maybe two of these would do for me, but if not, since there about half the yellow tops price, I could run maybe 4 of these.
Only thing is they are Chinese.. I'm just worried about the quality of them.. I know alot of different items are made in china, I just don't want the batteries to explode or leak or something hazardous. They won't be in my truck cabin, they will be in my bed.
I have a camper shell which I got for free.
What would you guys do? I've never had a bank of batteries before, and other things..
My location and currency is a big issue. Cost is another. I don't want to cheap out, but I don't want to spend all my money either.
