Pioneer vs Infinity, any suggestions?

Check into the often overlooked and under appreciated MB-Quart speakers too, some can be had for cheap, and they are VERY nice.

Infinitys sound good in the store, but not in your car...

First of all, some of the comments here you just need to take with a grain of salt. Infinity is not a bad speaker. True they do lack midbass, and may have harsher highs, but it depends on what you are looking for. Some people like harsher, some don't. It doesn't make it a bad speaker. I would take the rev's over the infinity's as well. As for your other question, about polks, they are a very smooth and warm sounding speaker. The db's are nice, but the momo's are much better. There again it depends on what kind of sound you are looking for.

Infinity's build quality is very good, imo. The sound reproduction characteristics of their speakers leaves me with something to be desired, however. They are crystal clear, but that clarity is really emphasized with the higher frequencies, which leads to listening fatigue after a little while. But a lot of people do like them.

As for Polk, I was ready to pull the trigger on some MOMO comps, as I absolutely loved the way they sounded. The db's didn't impress me as much, but they were still notable.

Then on to the REV's.... all I can say is I have been impressed with the way they sound from the sound board into the car. For the price they are available at, I can't think of much (if any) alternates to recommend.

are the newer ones not as good now? thats sad... i havent shopped for speakers for about 4 years... since i got my MB-Quarts

Polk is improving i think, they used to be a pretty cheap brand, but i've heard some of there newer stuff and have been fairly impressed.

I really dont like infinitys, ill never buy them again. they just hurt to listen to
