Pioneer TS-W subs

Hey guys, was just looking to see if anybody could tell me any good or bad things about these subs. They are Pioneer TS-W256C. They have them for $50, and one of my friends is looking for a cheap system for his dodge to start him off untill he gets it paid off.

They would be going into a reg. cab dodge 1500 in a custom box built by me to spec when I choose the subs.

We're looking for SQ over SPL, but the ability to rattle windows would be nice too.

they are a ok sub quite good for the money but alas as much as i like pioneer you get what you pay for . its a good little beater up sub if its your first system and you want something to kick around till you can get something better later on. that bieng said they can get pretty loud and can take a lot of abuse.

you can get a little better for money. Look around here or ebay for used subs. The pioneers are ok for beginner equip but........you can definitely do a little better

Very nice beginner sub imo. I wouldn't throw too much at it tho.

my friend just got two of the 12" versions and theyre in a sealed box (roughly 1.2 ft^3 per chamber)... they sound alright, they're only getting 350WRMS TOTAL though... i told him to get IDv3's but the pioneers were a little over half the price of the IDs..hard to argue w/ that.

I had a TS-W1500SPL when they first came out and it blew on 600watts and had to get it warrantied. sounded like *** and wasnt all that loud compared to memphis PRs.
