I didn't say that...

Supposedly DAC's do have sonic characteristics...me, I worry about the total package for audio needs-thats where i feel the eclipse has its advantages.

minute difference? yes...

not worth it? thats for the individual to decide...as the 860 doesn't have a flattering reliability record, and its long due on its way out...

im on a budget...what all does this deck have to do? Other than providing the AUX input is it going to be processing anything at all? Could I plug it into my stock stereo?

Have you not done your homework? That Pio flip is ONLY a DVD player, and its DAC will only affect what it is playing....theres zero EQ/Xover tuning capability for audio. Not only that it only has ONE set of RCA outputs, its not meant to be the source.

That unit will contro VIA touchscreen the P8mp ONLY.

I was under the assumption that it only did not have a fm tuner, which my stock stereo has. This plays cds, dvds, everything.

I wasnt aware it only had 1 set of pre-outs. The description was quite misleading.

no shyt sherlock....which he wont have with a stock hu, so might as well go aftermarket and shorten the need of oubtboard xovers/wiring/install/space and eliminate a noise trail possibility...
