Depends on your budget really. If you're looking to spend ~$50 per sub, there aren't many options.

I got some 400 watt championship series 12's from a huge discount sale for $100. They took all of a Kicker ZX750.1 with a birthsheet of 961rms for nearly a year and a half before I burnt one of them to a crisp (A little crazy with the gains so it was probably long before they should have gone). For $100, they were the best subs I could have asked for, but if I was in the market now I would definitely go with the phoenix golds or type r's if I was on a budget. If its your first system you really can't go wrong.
