Pioneer Subs (TS-W301R)

My first sub! I liked it. It had decent output and good sq for the price. The only thing that I thought was strange about it, was that in the mechanical power handling department, it kept wanting more! it took about 450rms to get it to full excursion (moved pretty good!) and really hitting hard. the only thing, was when I did that the small coil went up in smoke! I would run about 200-300rms to each sub to be safe. put both in 4 cubes tuned to 35 or so, depending on your tastes. oh yeah, after I tore it down, I noticed its built with a very strong and extremely light cone, pretty nice, I mean it was as light as a feather but was totally rigid. enjoy your new system man!

Whats your budget bud. We may be able to help you better equipment for your money. For example, for just about $10 more you can get this pioneer woofer http://www.millionbuy.com/piotsw307d2.html which is just the next step up (and it is a huge step up at that) and it will own the TS-W301R in every category. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

lol...Could afford that...

I went to wall-mart and copp'd them for 48 bux...

800 W max power, 4-Ohms ....double coil...sounded good at the time lol...

I have about 600 to spend max...

Ok $600 for 2 12's and an amp. Thats a decent budget and there's soooooo much more you can do. Plz don't get the Walmart subs with that budget. LOL. If your more specific about what you want we can help, just give some details and we'll get ya something 100 times better.

Also, don't worry about a subs or an amps max output rating. Max wattage means nothing. What your looking for is the RMS wattage which i believe is actually about 100-150 on those Walmart subs.

But see...

now Im stuck with the walmart subs cause I have no receipt...

But can you guys throw me in the direction of a good amp to go with these walmart subs...that will ALSO be good for when I upgrade the speakers?!?!?!
