Does anyone have a pioneer steering wheel remote control?

I'm thinking of getting the Pioneer CD-SR100

what do you think of it?

Is it worth getting?

Is it easier to change tracks and adjust the vol. and still keep your eyes on the road?

Would it work with a deh-p860mp

I had one, it worked OK, when sunlight shines directly on the HU's face plate the remote wont work (sensors blinded) otherwise it was fine for volume and track ajustment.

Yes

Get the CD-R600, its a much nicer remote and it fits in your hand

i have the pioneer 840. i didn't like it at all. the sensor for it isn't all that great. i basically had to pull out the remote from the holster to get it to do what i want. i wish i would have gotten the regular remote.

The cd-r600 is probably the best remote Pioneer has out right now. I have a 860 in one of my cars and it came with that "card style" remote and I didn't much care for it so I still use my cd-r600 that came with my old DEH-P920R. I just like the feel of it better. My P9 came with one very similar to the cd-r600 which was a blessing for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As far as the steering wheel remote is concerned: I think it depends on your luck with certain things. When I still used my 920 I tried the steering wheel remote and didn't have the best of luck. It worked pretty much whenever it wanted to. I got to the point where I would just take it off its bracket and used it like a normal remote. So it pretty much wore out its welcome in my car rather quickly. Believe it or not the DEH-P940MP came with the steering wheel remote and the one person I know that had it used a cd-r600 instead. So I would steer clear of this unless you can get it for real cheap then it wouldn't be such a risk since you never know, it just may work well in your vehicle.

Hey, Alpine I see you have an 860 also. I'm not sure if you know this or not but the 860 is "wired" remote compatible. Why not give that a try??

the card remotes rule! small, light , can put on a key chain if desired, and takes up no space and battery lasts a long time. also, while driving, u can easily hold onto the remote and wheel and change anything with ur thumb
