Pioneer stage 4 vs D series

Per conversation with a buddy, he claims that the Pioneer stage 4/ts-c172prs and the Pioneer ts-d1720c, are very similiar in both build and tonality. Any truth to this?

Yeah, your buddy is an idiot If he thinks that. Not even close. The d series is excellent and is among the best in build quality and sound in the $150 and less segment.

But the stage 4 stuff is a league of its own. Ive never owned another set of speakers with the build quality that these have.

Both are among the best to me in their respective classes. But make no mistake, those classes are very far apart
