So 80prs vs x8800bhs. The only difference on paper that matters to me is 16 band eq vs 13 band and 5 volt preamp vs 4 volt. The prs80 is $170 more. Is the prs80 better built or something? Is it really worth the extra money? Any input and recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Everything prs is on a whole other level than the normal pioneer stuff. However; the 80prs has its flaws.

I was shopping single dins and was contemplating 80prs, x8800bhs, and the deh-s6220bs. In the end I decided that the 80prs was more than I needed and had budget for but actually chose the 6220bs over the x8800bhs because it was 60$ cheaper and the 6220 has the the 13band eq (31 with the app). The x8800 has hd radio but I listen to bt, xd’s and xm

Thanks for the recommendation it gives me something to look at. Because when I listen to the radio its not something that I have loud or are looking for sound quality out of, usually just sports talk or a ballgame.

Then yah, save yourself an extra 60$ and get something with a 31 channel eq (with the app). Btw the prs 80 is pretty cheap right at $237 right now so If $200 was your budget it’s not much more. Otherwise that $120 6220 puts you closer to the $100 budget which was where I was

I still wouldn’t trade my 80prs for any other headunit and its pretty old.

I have reservations about buying stuff like this from Amazon. Just because of warranty issues and confidence that its not just some rebuilt/refurbished unit someone is trying to pass off.
