Ok going to be putting infinity plate 4X6's in the rear of my truck. Still a little undecided on the 6.5's in the front. In your guys oppinion should i go for the pioneer revs or the alpine type R's. Have a 300watt 2 channel pyramid amp too so guess i shoud go for component yes/no?? Gonna be guying off ebay soon so lemme know asap what you think or if i should go a totaly different way. And the type of music ill mostly be listening to is metal/rock if that makes a difference.

You should be able to demmo these speakers at A & B = Alpine and Beam Riders = Pioneer.

Asking someone's opinion is a good start, but if you can listen for yourself, you should do it.

listening to them in person, the revs seemed alot clearer then the type r's. i personally think the type r's don't even compare to the rev's. IMO all you are getting for the price of the type r's is the ALPINE name and not sq.

i heard some Rev components and Coaxials today, and they are by far the best sounding comps i've heard ina while, the coaxials sounded great too, the combo of both (comps = front stage coaxials =rear fill) would sound AMAZING, my next comp set for sure

my vote goes for the REVs the revs are clean crisp and very smooth, those will be my next pair of comps. im a type R fan, but the revs take it, in this battle. i dont believe the type Rs compare to the revs, if u havent heard both sets, then y take sides????
best coaxial i have used. i ran a set in my cobra up front, then i went to dynaudio components. the rev coaxials are loud and clean. my zapco guy only uses those in boats. the best sounding system i have heard, which i have talked about before had three treo tsx 10"s with a c2k 9.0, and eight pioneer tsd-170r's (oversized 6.5") with two zapco 750.2's. best sounding highs and mids and bass i have ever heard. that boat just flat out rocks.

The type R's can't even begin to compare to the rev series.IMO the type R's sounded way too muddy and mushy for the type of music I mostly listen to.Their type s coaxials are great but the R's just ****.
