Pioneer PRS880 No power?

Anyone ever heard about the ribbon inside the HU? I"m hearing that maybe if I replace the ribbon, the hu will power back on.

^Yea , A good friend of mine has a 9 series Pioneer H/U and he had this issue . His deck stopped working just like yours actually and he bought the ribbon and repaired it himself . Not really sure if its the same with the 880 ..

Strange............I know when I take my face plate off and then put it back on sometimes it don't work. I have to shift it a little, which I don't know if that is normal or not, lol! Then if that don't work, I have to shut off car and then turn it back on. Then it works perfect. I tend not to take it out too much.

Ya I would try takin the faceplate of the HU off and puttin it back on.

Doubtful that its the ribbon.

If you want I can try to replace the ribbon for ya if you get the parts..

Also someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the pioneer HU's require the connection of the antenna adapter to turn on, or is that a nissan thing?

Sold the deck for 82 on ebay. Bought a 7800 for replacement for now, Just spent 275 with 1 year warranty on ebay. So i'm going back to the 880. I relaly loved that deck.

Wow .. didnt expect you too sell .. lol . The 7800 is a good deck though . Own one myself . Get to put w/e images you want on there and what not . Pretty decent equalization with the deck also . Just missing the active capabilities

yes, the 7800 is pretty **** good. i went from the 7800 to the 880.

Yeah...I like the 7800 but it has a nasty ground loop and alt whine which can be fixed easily but I don't feel like fixing it haha. The 880 had ZERO ground loop or alt whine whatsoever and I dunno maybe all the talk about the 880 made me wanna get it again.

Thanks nismo but I just bought a new one. I don't think i needed an antenna on for the HU to power on.

Maybe I will do that in the future but i'm scared of theft!!! Maybe I'll just leave it on when i'm at a close friends house where the neighborhood is very safe. I do have a 3.5 clifford matrix which will notify me if someone trying to jack into my car.
