Pioneer PRS880 No power?

There was power from the part where it's before the resistor thing. We opened that part and everything seemed fine, and after the resistor to the pioneer harness and HU no power.

which wire are you talking about? sounds like the yellow power wire.

I dunno man...makes no sense that it failed on me out of nowhere. Working one second...doesn't work 2 hours later? It's been like 7 hour since it hasn't been on. I just got my new subs too. =( maybe i just have to ebay this "nonfunctional deck" and maybe get a new one.

there is a resistor or something on the red wire? i know there is that big block on the yellow power wire but don't remember seeing anything on the red wire. it has been almost a year since i wired that harness up though so maybe i just don't remember it. it's gotta be something with that wring though. loose connection or something.

I thought it was a wire problem too but, out of nowhere? My car was parked, don't think any Earthquake happen and my car didn't get hit super hard, so I don't think my car could of shaken while I was gone to cause a krazy wire to get loose. Hmmm.....never had much problems with harness wire before. I just gotta pray everytime i start my car that that HU will turn on. That's what I did in the past with my old pioneer decks sometimes.

Yea its a small cylinder plastic piece which has a resistor of some sort inside. Has 2 little clips on it if I recall ?

Id say maybe try hooking it up in another car and see what happens ..

you could always just test to see it it comes on just using a 12v battery. wire the + to + - to - and acc wire to +. see if it comes on.

yup, why not. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i am running a 300 watt mono RF amp in my room for HT with a car battery wired up just like that. i just have to remember to disconnect a wire when i turn the stereo off. kinda ghetto but it works for the time being. but same concept.

if it comes on then it's not the HU's fault, but the cars or wiring somewhere else.
