Pioneer or Panasonic?

I have had both panosonic and Pioneer. Pioneer has a far crispier sound. Also it allows you to play with the EQ settings far more deeply

first off why reccommend Eclipse to him when he is asking about Pioneer or Panasonic. Clearly Eclipse is one of the best HU's out there for SQ, but it is also much more expensive. Perhaps his price range is not suitable for Eclipse.

As for Pioneer or Panasonic. I have never heard a Panasonic however pretty much everyone I know with a system in their car has a Pioneer HU. I feel as long as you are looking at the Premiere models they are great. They produce very clear and crisp sound. I have never had a problem with my HU skipping or had any problem with it reading CD's. Some models even read over scratches and whatnot's. Pioneer makes great HU's. Plus they are a great deal for your money. You usually get a lot more options with Pioneers as well. And i'd have to agree that I like the look of the Pioneer HU's a lot better.

If you are not looking into the Premiere models the two are fairly comparable, just shop around. You'll probably be happy with either.
