pioneer n2 w/o a brain??

ok so i came across a n2 without the brain. i dont know much about dvd decks with brains but can u use the n2 w/o the brain. i see it has rca outs on the back of the unit which i would connect my highs amp to for my speakers.

any info woudl be thanked
