Pioneer HU problem

I have a Pioneer 6800mp and its been great up untill recently. Basically right now it does absolutely nothing, doesn't turn on or give any sort of message. It started acting wierd, like the face plate would halfway close or it would only turn on sometimes, after I jump started a friends car which I have no idea if that caused the problem or it was just coincidence. I had best buy install it about 2 years ago, only because they had a deal where they would install it for free. I'm hoping its just a small problem and I don't need to buy a whole new unit and I figured I would ask to see what everyone thinks before I take apart my car to look for the source. Any advice, whether its obvious or not is appreciated, thanks.

take it back to best buy. get them to look at it?

Well I went to talk to them and they said they charge just to pinpoint a problem and I'd rather that be a last resort. Today I checked all the power wires and the unit is receiving power but there is no current running through the ground wire, should there be? And if so is there any integra owners who know the easiest and best place to ground it at?

does it have a small 5a fuse in the back or something? is that blown?

Yea I checked all the fuses and they are all good

take it out and wire it to the battery? that will tell you if you have a wiring issue or if its the unit anyways ..

Invest in a DMM and check your 12v constant. My girls corolla HU wouldnt turn on come to find out the constant 12v was only putting out 4v, so I had to run a wire to the battery

After trying just about everything i have come to the conclusion that the unit is done, I've had it for over 2 yrs and from what I read thats about as long as pioneers last anyway. So I'm considering the Kenwood x693 and the Alpine 9886. I've seen a lot of reviews on the Kenwood but I haven't seen any on the Alpine, any suggestions between the two?
