K, so My pioneed headunit/ dvd player has a wine.

it not only wines when the car isn't on, but it is very winey in responce to the alternator.

Also I get a thump from the subs whenever the volume goes to 0. and you can hear it a little bit when you just turn the volume up in between the change

I heard a few pioneer headunits have this issue.

I know a few people had a link of how to get rid of this problem.

Anybody got a link?

One thing that I figured out was when I unplug the RCA cables from the Sub-Out from the receiver. The whining noise stops. My other amp that controls the highs (door speakers) don't make any noise. I tried turning off Sub in the settings, still the same problem.

Sweet. thx for the pm's guys.

I just got that ish done.

You issue is the pioneer Pico fuse, its fuse inside pioneer units that blows when RCA's are unplugged while the unit is on.

That method of grounding will fix the problem but you can also open up the unit and replace the fuse but it does require some soldering.

Many pioneer models, they have been using this technology for quite some time. You probably did the same thing.

Another thing that causes this is plugging the rca's in first and them grounding out. Have them be the last thing you plug in with the headunit off. Its a stupid design.

I always done the rca connection on the deck last with it powered off.

What i have done a few times though is disconnect and connect the rca's hot at the amps for when setting gains on one amp and then the next.

What year decks does this affect? I have a 600ub and I tried doing this before and got no sound at all and only came back when i took the wires off.
you might have gone too far and pushed wire to get on the pos and on teh neg. Which might fck up the deck.
