pioneer deck skip

i got a deh-p980 for about 2yrs now... my question is that the HU plays ok when its warm.. but in a cold day it skips... it even skip with the ipod hook to it...

is this common in pioneer deck or what is causing it to skip?

could be a power prob. is the screen going blank? any kinda popping noise. my sug, check your wiring. maybe someone could steer you better than i could

nope...everything look normal..last winter it was fine but this winter it start to skip.. never had this happen to me in the summer..i think it might be the HU since its a 2yrs old now.. and its pretty cold where i live

SKips with the Ipod? That sucks... I'm ditching my Pioneer due to skipping issues as well but I wouldn't think the iPod should skip.

I had a old pioneer premier from back in the day, would eject and play fine cold but when it gets warm the motor in it would eject the cd but not recieve it. Probably some fault in the Hu that needs repairs, maybe time to get a new HU.

I have a 9800bt, its about 2 years old and mine plays fine even with the ipod on cold days, so i don't know...
