Pioneer comp/bmx settings

I am curious to know how other Pioneer owners are using the comp/bmx settings. I have the 780 which I purchased in August and originally, since I listen to a lot of mp3's - albeit at 320kps - I figured I needed to utilize these settings to bring out the fullness of the compressed music. So I set the bmx setting to 2 and occasionally went to comp 2 for certain songs. My EQ was close to flat. Recently I turned this feature off and raised the EQ slightly at certain frequncies and appear to be getting a more realistic sound. So I was wondering how others are using this feature? I do have the BBE set to 2.

i'm sure that's just a bunch of bullshit and all it does is add even more boost to some frequencies... i would leave this off and just use the EQ
