Pioneer AVIC-D1

I don't know if this has been discussed but has anyone checked this out yet? I thought it was pretty cool lookin, trying to go after the double din fit like the Kenwood unit. I noticed it was a couple hundred dollars more, but I thought hey, if it comes with 24bit DACs and etc etc, I'd pay more for the pioneer over the kenwood. And then I realize, the AVIC D1 doesn't even play DVDS! and it costs MORE than the kenwood. good job pioneer, good job at selling an indash lcd that requires an additional external dvd player. i'm sure they'll sell a lot that way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

the new kenwood 25th aniversary xxv-05v is pretty sweet. same as the 915 but with a copper chassis a few other upgraded items....mmmm copper chassis...

The pioneer unit is meant for navigation primarily, thats why it has 2 cd slots, one for cd's and one for dvd nav. the kenwood unit has a single slot for cd/dvd play but you have to add the navigation seperatly. last time i checked it was cheaper to add dvd than it is to add navigation. i guess it boils down to what you are looking for, im in the 12v industry and ill tell you i believe that pioneer has the best navigation ive seen.
