Pioneer and XM

OK, I have Pioneer Premier DEH-P840MP head unit and I just added a GEX-FM903XM tuner. I am controlling the tuner through IP-Bus but right now I don't have an antenna yet. I have the AUX turned on, on the head unit, but I really don't have any way of telling if it is set up right or not. I know the tuner has power, but I don't get anything at all when I turn it to AUX.

Pioneer's site has manuals on it, but I can't get the downloads to work at all. I can't even bring up the manuals.

Is there anything special I need to do to get the head unit ready to control the tuner? Or will it be OK now once I get an antenna installed?

I hope this doesn't sound too noob'ish. I tried to search but vBulletin won't allow for the term "XM" since it is less than 3 letters.
