880 can go active which is the only huge difference. It also has auto EQ which i think works well. If you dont plan to run and active setup then get the 980. If you dont need the bluetooth, get the 780.

Where can you get the 980 for a reasonable price? Onlinecarstereo doesnt have it and woofers etc wants $540? Thanks.

I just picked up a 880 at a local shop for $300 installed, and this included the 2 year warranty! The 980 was $399, and the installer told me that the extra $99 wasn't worth it, unless you must have blutetooth and a color display.

I like this much better than my old Alpine 7998.

i've had both. both sound amazing. the 980 looks better too me I like having fat butts dance around on my head unit.

personal taste or lack thereof.

bluetooth is cool too.
