I have a Pioneer Premier 860mp and I am Happy with the features of it. I think its a nice solid unit. Take advantage of that 13band eq. Also I would get a 4 channel for your highs.

i bought an alpine 7995 and....it didnt do it for me

i had 960 mp and man that thing was great

i wish i had not sold it

between a 8600 and 9887? I'd say 9887. But both are awesome, and both will be very clear sounding if done right!

There aren't big differences between the two. If you have the Pioneer, there is no sense to "upgrade" to the Alpine. It'd be more of a swap than an upgrade.
