Pioneer 700BT vs. Alpine 9886

I have the Pioneer 700 BT and overall it s a very good HU.It has all the bells and whistles I think anyone could want in a HU.My only problem is the SQ.For some reason it just seems a little lacking in the audio portion.I wish it had a few more settings for adjusting the audio.Does anyone else agree with this?

I ve been looking at upgrading to a more SQ oriented HU.Ive been doing some research on the Alpine 9886.Would this be a jump in sound quality over my Pioneer?I also came across a deal on a Pioneer 9800 BT,this also seems more what Im looking for.Any input would be appreciated.

The alpine I tried out some pioneers and I hated them. Alpine looks better and makes speakers sound better. Alpine all the way

the 9887 has a better processor, 24bit burr brown... its a much better sq head unit!

Go with alpine I had bad luck with pioneer and alpine is so much better quality.

Yes, alpine would be the way to go from your choices. Another good option is the higher end Kenwood Excelon's. They have fantastic sound quality!

The 9887 is a big step up in sq. It also has the Imprint capability. Imprint is sorta like sound imaging for dummies.

I own the 9887 so I'm a lil biased. I replaced a pioneer deck that came with my car and it made a HUGE difference even with stock speakers. From what I hear/read Pioneer units are known for blowing fuses too.

Wow the Kenwoods are real nice.I found a store that has a X993 and Im checkin it out tomorrow.

Yes I know. I've owned it since January. I just don't remember reading Burr Brown in the specs when I bought it.

I use google all the time BTW. smart *** =D

I used to own a Pioneer briefly last year. Didn't like it. The Kenwood was very very nice and if I didn't have my Alpine 9886 then Kenwood all the way. Alpine is one of the best for a reason. Its between Alpine, Eclipse and Kenwood.
