ok so i recently got this premier deh-490IB from a friend. its LNIB, but it was missing the original cable thats used to hook up the i-pod (it comes with one from the factory).

anyway, i bought an i-bus adapter off ebay, plugged it in and im trying to get the i-pod to play now. since im using the i-bus, i have to play through the auxillary, correct? im rpetty sure the aux1 is on, but alls im getting is static. made sure volume on the i-pod was up as well as it was playing. even tried a few different i-pods.

now, the i-pod cable is in right, i know this becasue it worked with my otehr HU weith no problems and for some reason it just wont work with this one.

also, on this 490IB, i have the I-bus going into the blue port in the back of the HU. theres anotehr female adapter back that off of a plug, its a bit different shaped, but im not sure if maybe i need a different type of coonection for this and i should be runnning the i-pod through there?

im really trying to get this to work, because basically all my bass tracks skip because there on CDs, and the bass is just killin them. also, its easier for friends to be able to plug in an i=pod if they dont feel like listening to my shitty music when were out.

any help is appreciated.
