The point is, they're using something that TC owns the rights to. Not saying the basket is super special or something, lol, but it IS their basket. They have the choice to do with it as they wish as long as their patent is good and if someone else is using it and profiting off of something you PAID to have patented, yeah, of course you're gonna take them to court and get money from them.

You don't know what I've heard and what I haven't. Anyone who has ran them (that isn't affiliated with P.A.P.) will tell you that they are quiet and not worth the money. Why don't you ask someone from the 12" challenge? You should really consider what you say before you spout off bullshit.

I don't know who owns the rights to the basket, nor do i care. What comes off as gay is PAP trying to say the basket is custom tooled to their specs when its not a basket we haven't seen before... When it ain't even an uncommon basket at all...

There are three patents on that basket. Two for the design itself and one for the removable thread adaptor which makes the top assembly replicable. Even if the cast was 100% re tooled it would infringe on our design patent at the very least. The patents are all posted on our website under each driver that uses the frames.

The tooling and design costs for that frame were very very expensive and you don't see many custom frames around for that reason which is why we are defensive about it just as JL Audio, RE, MTX, Kicker, or any other manufacture is of theirs.

The reason many older frames are shared is because they were designed over 14 years ago and the patent no longer holds. The frame we use on our TC-1000 is one example a "free" frame that anyone can use without infringement.

There is nothing illegal about buying our frame from our vender or directly from us, you just can’t resell it unless otherwise negotiated. We are an OEM too.
