Problem is, some of those parts suppliers expect you to buy 50 spiders minimum on your order //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifNot neccesarily "crappy" more like inexpensive stock 2.5 inch v.c. sub recone parts
I'm sure if he wanted much more high end parts that could be arranged also. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
To the OP, it is not to difficult but it is imperative that you take accurate measurements of what you are fitting and give those to your parts supplier if you want to make sure they fit.
I'm not talking about a generic one size fits all drop-in... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif^ Not a bad idea..
Contrary to what ng said I think it's a lot better to piece together a kit rather then get a 'drop in' (that is unless the 'drop in' is specifically for your woofer) Chances are it won't be the same coil and won't be centered properly with the topplate, otherwise..
I've heard PAP recones are a bit pricey... but $35 + shipping sounds pretty hard to beat for a 2.5" coil + kit...
I was thinking more along the lines of listing companies or individuals that will sell recone parts to whoever... I've got a whole sourcebook of manufacturers from around the world; but it would be pretty pointless in listing them all since they won't deal with the general public...Precision Econowind (voice coils)
NuWay Speaker Products (spiders, surrounds and cones)
Bob Smith Industries (CA Glue)
SJA Atomic (coils, cones, whole assemblies)
I cant think of any more at the moment, but im sick and dying over here today from the flu //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
