I know RE recommends 2.0 cubes /sub but what do I lose if I go with the compact design of 1.5 cubes/sub?

I believe you will lose some of the low end with a smaller box, but don't quote me, some of the experts can be more helpful.

tiny boxed tuned low have a great amount of low end and punchiness in some cases.

i did a 2.5@24 once, and loved it.

Ported. Tuned to about 35. I'm going to be using 2 subs but just getting the idea for one. I already have a 4 cube tuned to 34 but the box won't fit the way I want it to so I'm thinkin' 3 cubes for my next box. Never even had the chance to hear the subs play in 4 cubes.
