Thanks man, I really probably should finish my recones first though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

my subs are still in about 10 peices at the moment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yeah, its not a pretty sight at the moment. Right now, you'd be all ashamed of my jeep looks...and sounds. There are no subs in the wall, and what im using for low fequencies at the moment is four 6x9's in a Polk Audio isobaric bandpass box from 1991. It actually doesnt sound too bad for SQ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

id invest in a micrometer if you're serious.
Yes.

You CAN do it... and technically the speaker might "work" but at what cost to performance/sound?

You need to realize all the specs of just the coil: height, layers, gauge, material, etc, etc... not to mention the spiders and rest of the parts.

If you insist on doing this... do your research... also the amount you'll have invested in TIME will outweigh the increased price of a drop-in recone kit. I'd rather have a drop-in...
