My old car to Car Thief would do mid 40's to that song and sound good doing it. To test tones I could get a 149.9 on an AC 160 that was new and tuned at the time. Some will say it would be a MUCH lower score on a TL but I doubt it is as far off as a ported box system would or could be. It was 2 15" idw's in an 11+ cubic foot box with holes in the bottom of the car. There was steel mesh with sandwiched gortex to water proof it. We also used buckwheat in the box to help tune it:laugh: When it had the right music playing it would shake stuff with the windows up or down from a pretty good distance.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I also didn't get 3 or 4 db different readings from moving the mic in the front unless i stuffed the mic into a corner. With the standard Iasca mic stands it would always read within a few tenths regardless how the mic stand was. Either front seat position would read close. That album is classic and not many like it.
i had a wide assortment of alignments w/ subs in my trunk...Was your original box a high output ported box?
do it and find out, mofoso how would 2 12 w3's sound doin this?
W3 can play IB but I doubt JL would actually recommend it. Squeak9798 has a Shiva MK whatever they are called now (used to be adire think they are called exidus now?) in a baffle board set up. It can shake his car pretty violently. Enough to make you wonder if his back seat is broken. That is a fairly inexpensive driver...like it a lot better than my atlasso how would 2 12 w3's sound doin this?

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Reason why it sounds louder is probably due to it being louder at a lower frequency. My IDW's on an AC or Linear X the loudest peak I always had to pink noise when getting RTA'd was 20HZ...pretty sure givin the right tone in a ported box your subs would have farted louder and probably handled more power. When I did the SPL scores if I clipped my signal at all I knew it right off the bat. IB subs typically go crunch crunch when you do that. Funny how gains between 3 sound processors can do that huh? LOLi had a wide assortment of alignments w/ subs in my trunk...
15" sealed/ported. 12" sealed/ported. dual 12" sealed.
this single 12" IB'd can get just as loud to the ear as most the setups i had prior.... with only 250w.
When I had two 12"s IB'd... it was just tooo crazy.
Yup that be it. I do not get into net brands much anymore.
For subwoofers the wavelengths are too long for the shape of the cone to really have any effect. Not to mention that in our environment there really isn't any "radiation" in the subbass frequencies, it's simply pressurization of the airspace.i've noticed alot of these cars have inverted subs... now i know this doesnt seem to affect much, but the outward shape of the cone doesnt have any affect on dispersion? (in a good way cause i've ocnsidered it trying it just for that, not for looks)
