WW is winding width, or height of the voice coil. If he stated 2.3" and you have 1.7", something is wrong. You either got the wrong recone or he just doesn't care and sent you whatever he had available, thinking you wouldn't know the difference.

If thats a DC coil its aluminum coils for sure with a stainless steel former. From what I can tell you did get the proper recone. From the looks of the winding hieght you got dual .7's or dual 1's?

anyone trying to say it is or isnt copper from those pics is an idiot. the laquer around the coil is going to change the color and depending on what kind they used it can be hard to tell. I would call the dude and ask if youre worried about it bro. i dont like being rushed by someone. I take 90% of my stuff to PSI though so things be differnt.

that is a anodized alum former. the scratches are how the sheet metal comes (brushed) then anodized so you can see thru it.

unless there is a spider riser or basket spacer the coil to spider looks too far apart.

just contact who you bought it from might have been a mix up and you got somebody else's, ***** happens...

winding width and winding height are different terms for the same thing.

Thats not the coil I would use for that sub.. and for your sake I hope its copper, not aluminum... but either way you've got it now so I'd just go ahead and use it..

the coil might be copper clad aluminum so it is copper colored, also if it is a flatwound coil and the original is round that would be why it doesnt look like as many layers but if there is 5 you can see for sure im gonna say its a 8 layer. the winding width/height (coil height) is wrong for sure though if its suppose to be 2.3", have you checked the imp. of it yet? what is the inside diameter of the coil and diameter of the pole piece on your sub?
