the pic above will fix the problem perfect and is 100% safe.

If you send it out and have it fixed, you can and will most likely blow the new pico at some point.

you only damage the HU output by messing with RCA's when the HU is on. don't do that and you're fine.

as a general rule, never mess with audio cables while equipment is energized.

i've talked to Pioneer engineers about this, they don't have/won't disclose a "work around" for this.

Do you have a "before" picture
No unfortunately I don't. All that was there was the ground pins for the RCA pig tail, soldered a wire across the pins and then another one to a chassis tab.

This is for the PRS880 others may/will be different.

I have one of the top side though. The little chip below the exclamation point with the d on it is the fuse.

i can't do what you have done in the pic above because my hu has a plug in RCA harness...

^ There used to be a picture on here of how to do it with external RCA wiring, but its just as simple. Make the ground wires longer and just tape/zip tie them to the RCA cables.

i've replaced my pico fuse twice, the second time with a 1A rated fuse. It still blew when I looked at the HU wrong one day. And no, I won't do yours. I don't like to solder stuff that small lol. What I ended up doing was bypassing it. Sick of ripping the dash apart.

It would be cheaper, it might be easier to find a place to mount it, and you would have a ton of options if you just do two, 3 slot fuse holders...

My bad, yes, I read them each as having two 4ohm coils. The JBL diagram left a bit to be desired, IMO. ;) And a double yes, thought U was talking...

I plan on getting the fuse to run as a front sub/midbass in my kick panels...I've heard they sound good but you definitely wont get mirror shaking...

Sounds like a bad ground or wiring problem on the 12v+ side.
