It'll sound like utter sh*t compared to your JL if you use pioneer's box specs. The manufacturer's specs is utterly stupid. You'll need at least 2 to 2.5 cubic feet ported for them tuned to 32-34hz or 1.5 cubic feet sealed.Oh, I really don't have no where to put it but would like to test it compared to my JL 12". But not sure what box to throw it in.

Nope not similar, i had the exact same sub. One of the worse subs ever for my music tastes. Horrible for rock/metal, sub does best if you want deep lows.I remember asking for Jeffs opinion on this. He had said he used/owned a similar unit but of older spec and that it had a lot of cone noise. What are you planning on replacing this with?
you can try but most likely its not gonna work out well at all. T lines are very custom tailored enclosures built based on the subwoofer's precise electromechanical parameters. You can't just toss any woofer in there because the Parameters will always be different which can completely throw off the sound.I wonder if i can use my t-line spec'd for a w7. There both 12"s and both 1000 rms. It should be similar, right ?

It should do fine within that genre, unless its old school hip hop.I do mainly hip hop so you think it'll sound decent ?
