I'm about to have my head unit, XM tuner, and iPod adapter installed, and was hoping to get some ideas on where to mount the equipment. Obviously, the headunit will go in the dash, but how about the other 2 boxes?

If anyone has any pics or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Even other SUV's would be fine as it'd give me a basic idea on where to mount some of this stuff. Thanks...

check cardomain theres tons of pictures there and you can narrow it down to make/model and year. there should be plenty of hoes there

You won't be able to fit those two boxes in the dash. You can try to put them under the front seats. You'll have to check for length on the Controller cable betwen the box and the head unit though.

The best place to go through that dash is on the back left hand corner of the dash opening. The wire will come right down above the gas pedal.

Oh, and make sure you don't accidentally fry the circuit board on top of your a/c controls, as it is open on top.

in a 4 dr 1998 there is a deep pocket under where the HU will go i put an XM box in there for a buddy and then put his iPod in the glovebox...

I got so excited, I took a pic. LoL.

How hard is it to put the iPod in the glovebox? And what about running the wire from inside to outside? I'm really trying not to drill too many holes into any interior pieces at the moment or hack up the dash to install a few basic components...
