phoenix xenon wiring trick USE AT OWN RISK I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU DOING THIS!!!

I was just wondering.. Ive got a IdMax 12'' v.3 d4.... I bought this Pg Xenon 600w amp.... the one you said this would work fine on.... It's going to be powered with some 4gauge..... Could I do this trick... and just lets say get 800-900watts out of it? Would it run fine on some 4 gauge? The sub only handles 1000watts rms.. so I wouldnt need more than 850 or so... Coul I do this thing and set it at that wattage and let it go from there?.... also... I imagine that if something goes wrong with the DEI thing and it stop working... you amp is going to go in flames.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

same think for me....I only need about 1000-1200rms! Will it do it in 4ohm or not...and is there less chance to burn in 4ohm than in 2ohm???? cauz i'm supose to buy a used 1200.1 no warranty (500$ can) but I can have a new 600.1 for about 300$can all included on ebay. How could they know you did such a thing if your amp does burn???(i'm talking about the warranty)

I would be running a 4ohm, about 1000rms, sub!

can u do this mod without the use of that dei?
sure. turn on the amp, then plug in the speakers a second later. done.

all you need is a suitable relay, a large resistor, and a mosfet in theory. the MOS gate acts a capacitor, and the large resistor attached to the gate acts with the capacitance to give a time delay. eventually the gate voltage will reach about 5V and the fet will be fully on and the relay will switch the speaker on.

cheap, effective. could be better.

and alternatives exist. you can rig up the mos+relay circuit to switch over after the music starts, which really isn't ideal, but the amp should live...
