Pheonix Gold ryval!

Nothing wrong with that amp, but you need to know, those wattage ratings are max output, not RMS output. The RMS output is:

75w x 4 @ 4 ohms

120w x 4 @ 2 ohms

I still have my first amp, from when I was a noob. Phoenix Gold Octane. Durable amps, and do rated power all day without breaking a sweat. I never had mine go into protect, or overheat. And I ran it two ohm stereo with a four ohm bridged sub.

I also nuked the fuses by putting the positive into the negative on accident. Popped new fuses in, fixed the wiriing, amp turned right on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

The Octane series don't even come close to doing rated power. Also, those new Ryval amps are "OK" at best. If only Phoenix Gold would stop letting their marketing team put the finishing touches on the build quality and rated outputs, they would be a solid line/Company again.

The amps will continue to be, and have always been solid btw..

Where have they been tested or stated to not do rated power? My comps ran off the Octane are only a a hair quieter than they are on the ZX350. And every time I've set gains for a variety of speakers, I never had to crank gain or bass boost to get them to comfortable power.

Not trying to call you out. I just had very good experience with mine, and my friend his.
