PHATBOi's T.U.P - Skar Audio & VVME Build

Started out with Audiopipe mids/highs on a Diesel Audio NS1600.2 and 2 VVME RD-12's on a VVME QA-D1500 but had problems with the VVME amp as it was damaged during shipping. Was already in the process of upgrading my highs amp to an SK85.4, so I went ahead and got an SK1500.1D to match. Also went with a pair of Skar PAX6.5 mids to replace the AP's. Have DB Drive tweets for the time being till the new Skar bullets are released. Planning to upgrade to ZVX 12's and add a second SK1500.1D before SBN next year.

Upgrades:

Had these tweets, but blew em cause I had the tweets wired in with the mids at 2 ohms by 2 on the SK85.4 for a little over 250 rms per door and over powered them. Actually what also happened to the AP tweets as well.

Got these ones in warranty replacement

Mids

Added a batt in the rear, 55ah Power Ware

New amps

SK85.4

SK1500.1D

Didn't have enough 1/0 for amp power and ground so i used my distro with double 4 gage and 2 150 amp fuses for power and 2 runs of 4 gage for ground. The blue wire you see running thru the floor is the rear frame ground pictured earlier.

I also upgraded head units and added a volt meter:

Clarion CZ401 I had

Kenwood KDC-X596 and Stinger VM

Have the mids and tweets each on their own channels of the 85.4 now. Not as loud as the AP's were, but a huge improvement in SQ and midbass.


That's where I'm at for now. Let me know what you think. Not doin to bad for right at $1K invested in the whole build. Thanks for checkin it out.
