Here's the build I've been working on out here in Japan. It's changed from a simple Zstat 15" sub to custom enclosure and dual Xcons strapped to Crescendo 2Ks. It actually grew itself into something a tad bigger than I expected but it has been fun to put together. Shout out to @double 07; @gckless; for helping me out. I had the pleasure of meeting gckless out in Japan and talking shop quite a bit. After a million and one texts, and plans @gckless; he helped me put together something good.

It's been one heck of a challenge since I'm sourcing everything from back USA. Most of the Japanese run the big box brands like RF, Kenwood, Sony, etc. , so I decided to go with something different that will be in the end outstanding. The second challenge, is the vehicle of choice a Toyota Voxy. It's a mid sized van with good space for an install, but I had to do some mods to make the upgrades work like a bigger battery, etc.

Equipment:

Pioneer 9400BH

CDT front components with rear coax for fill

2 Xcon 15's

2 Crescendo BC2000Ds ( replaced a Hifonics 1700d)

1 MB Quart Onx4.125 (moving the planet audio out)

Excessive Amperage custom HO (current alt is 70a)

2 XS power D3400s

Knu Con wiring

New Dimensions /Stinger Volt meters

Custom Enclosure 8 cubes net 33hz

So here goes.

I got bored with it being the same as the others around so I put a set of used wheels (great deal at $300.00 for the set) and ordered some good ole vinyl wrap from Ebay.

Onto the audio history.

Initially I was just planning something easy, 15" Zstat sub in a prefab, Hifonics 1700D, Infinity Ref door speakers paired up with the Planet Audio 1600.4. I decided to rip that out and go for the CDTs which are paired up with the PA for now (Onx4.125on the way through Amazon). I decided to sell the Hifonics and go with the Crescendo 2K and it performs very well. It kills that Zstat so I had to adjust the gains way down. @gckless; helped me to tune everything also. I really don't like the performance of that sub, so I decided to go Xcons after having a pair of Icons in my old BMW. The initial plan was to go a single Xcon 15 on the 2K, but the plans grew to dual Xcons strapped on two BC2ks @ 2 ohms for 4000 watts.

I had to slightly mod the battery tray for the XS Power D3400 to fit. The initial battery was small as all heck. Hence I had to use a small piece of wood to help out the bracket. A pain the rear getting these batteries here, Crutchfield hooked me up with free shipping. Shout out to XS and CF.

I just recently installed some battery terminals from Toolmakerz and it really cleans up the mess, I will have to take a new pic. It looks way better and much cleaner. I also got rid of the loom.

Since I decided to build bigger I had to order some more goodies. So I ordered a second 2K, the MB Onx4.125, two more XS Power D3400s for the rear. I wanted to go with the D3100s, but shipping weight is 3lbs over so I went with the 3400's.

2 sets of toolmaker terminals that are freaking awesome. I went with the 2/4, 4/0 and the 6/0 sets.

Still waiting on a second sub from SSA which should be coming in the mail in a week or so. But heres where @double 07; did the thing for me.

As for the electrical, I'm still waiting on a few things. I bought a second alternator from a parts broker out of Tokyo for around $60.00. I packed it up and it has arrived at Excessive Amperage as of last week. I reached out to DC, Ohio Gen, and a few others. Nate seemed really cool, so I'm hoping he can do something for me. I know that 70a alternator won't do the trick with something like this. I'm shooting for at least 200a-250a (if I'm lucky) so we will see. Nate came back and confirmed he could 250a output so it should help me out with power.

So as of last week I was able to get alot of things installed. Went dual runs of power and ground which was hell pulling through that little van. A little Armor All on the cable jacket helped to do the trick.

From there I had the amp rack/battery box built. One of my good friends in Japan came through on this for me and did an excellent job. @gckless; hooked me up with a voltmeter which I installed on the amp board. It came out looking cool.

Everything was carpeted to match and it's install time.

Test run of the MBQ 4 chan. which sounds really good. It was vinyl wrapped under the seat.

BC2Ks going in and being strapped up. Nice lil' amps.

Everything in. Still have to finish putting in the two rear batteries, but I'm traveling for work in Korea. Once I get back I will make some more progress. Also I needed a tad bit of power wire so I will finish that also.

The fuse blocks on top are for the dual runs of power wire from the front of the van.
