Phase angle

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but o well.

Well my box is a sealed box and there are two jl audio 12w0's one is horizontal while one sits at an angle of 58Deg. to the horizontal lol look at diagram #1.

So my question is, if you could somehow change the phase angle of the speaker per degree instead of just 0 to 180, that would make the imaging //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif seem to be as if they were set up like #2?

Is there any known way of doing such a thing? I dont want to do it im just curious.

The only way to do such a thing is to have each sub in its own chamber and on its own amp and time delay the closer sub. The actual facing of the sub doesn't really matter, bass is omnidirectional. In all honesty, the time factor doesn't matter much in the sub-bass region. The wavelengths involved are much longer than your car cabin. In actuality, your subs are really just pressurizing the interior of the car. Because of that, as long as they are moving in unison the distance and angle aren't that critical. If you were a hardcore SPL competitor, you might have to address the issue (it might get you a couple tenths of a dB), but if all you are doing is listening to music, you won't be able to tell the difference.

Agreed with helotaxi.

Since we are dealing with subbass, that small difference in aiming really isn't important for daily listening. The wavelengths are too long and bass is omnidirectional, as mentioned, for it really to cause any issues.
