So PG cant do 1ohm? Since BXi is suppostivly overrated what about if they both were @ 2ohm??you can't reallistically compare the 2. the hifonics is rated at 1 ohm/1600. the gold is 1200 underrated/2-4 ohms. it depends on what sub/subs you're running on it. if you need 1 ohm stable then the hifonics is it. if you're running sub/subs at 2-4 ohms then the pg is it.

if you can run your subs at 1 ohm you should be able to run them at 4 ohms. i really don't see why you would the tantrum too run at 1 ohm anyways.you can't reallistically compare the 2. the hifonics is rated at 1 ohm/1600. the gold is 1200 underrated/2-4 ohms. it depends on what sub/subs you're running on it. if you need 1 ohm stable then the hifonics is it. if you're running sub/subs at 2-4 ohms then the pg is it.
The BXi1606 is rated for 1100w at 2 ohms, so you'd actually be getting around 900w. The Tantrum would put out around 1400w at 2 and 4 ohms. The PG's output does not change depending on impedence. But if you can fun to 1 ohm, you can run to 4 ohms, so that really doesn't matter. I would go with the PG. Much better amp IMO.So PG cant do 1ohm?
