PG RSD's vs Pioneer Rev's

So my order for rsd's was supposedly "cancelled" but I got an email that they shipped last night. I had already ordered Pioneer rev's pretty **** cheap before I knew about this.

So now I have two sets of components coming in and I don't know which to use. I might end up just hooking both up to see which I like better but that will be a major PIA!

Any opinions from people who have heard both? Which set did you like more?

Also, is it ok to run tweeters with just a HPF? My x791 kenwood deck has HPF's for front and rear speakers so I'm contemplating running the tweeters off the deck and the mids just off the amp. Would this be beneficial over just passive crossovers besides the adjustabillity aspect?

What amp/power?

What is the max HP frequency you can set from the HU?

From what I understand, the tweeter doesn't take any of the mid's power because they aren't playing the same frequency. Only time they would be sharing the power is if they play the same frequency. So from what I've read, you wouldn't gain any by hooking the tweeter up to your head unit, and your mids to the amp. But if someone more knowledgeable would chime in and confirm if I'm right or wrong, I'd much appreciate it. Good luck with your choice, sorry I couldn't give you input on either set.

Running them active without the passive should be more efficient. You lose power when you run passive threw heat.

Ha, you're psychic. Only after I ran wires through a door, damplifier pro'd the whole door, attached tweeter to head unit, and buttoned up the door did I realize my HU HPF only goes up to 220hz!! lmao

Now I gotta take off the mid just to run a wire for the tweeter, boooooo! Looks like I'm sticking with the supplied passive crossovers.

I was wondering if your HU HP would be able to be set in the 2.8 to 3.2 kHz range. Most can not unless they can handle active processing.
