people with nasty cars and the installers who have to work in them

Dont have a real good one but, this fat lady brings her Cherokee in for a recall on the air bag module. Its under the drivers seat. Tech took the seat out and found a vibrator in a bag there. It was pretty funny watching him chase people around the shop with it. When he was done he left it on the pass seat so she knew he found it.

My sisster got a 91 Honda accord for free... The car was fuzzy inside from the mold, literally mold was growing like weeds inside... THe kid who had it before left the stuff in it college books and all, wet and moldy as hell. It didn't smell too bad and after extensive cleaning it was an okay car. Took a whole month to clean it and get it running.

My friend was telling me yesterday why washing a car is pointless.

"Why wash it? It'll be dirty again in a week!"

Because if you don't take care of your car, it won't take care of you. I keep my car clean, keep the oil changed, keep good tires on it, usually keep the inside clean //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif, keep the carpet clean, I wax it, clean the brake dust out of the wheels, perform maintenance when it's needed- ie. keeping the brake pads changed, tires rotated, and anything else that comes up... and since I take care of my car, I know it will be in working order when I need it to be.

That's kind of how I feel about the outside of my car. I drive lots of gravel roads and if I wash it, it will be dirty again in a day. I'd have to wash it every day if i wanted it to stay clean. It gets especially bad here in the winter because of all the salt and sand on the roads.

I keep the inside nice and clean though.

The first thing I do when someone comes into my shop and wants an install done is to go and look at the car first. If i see that is real f'ed up i make sure to tell them that it needs to be cleaned, then if they don't do that like alot of people, i point out a little sentance on the work order that they sign that says if the installer has to clean out your car there is an extra $30 charge for removing and putting items back into the car. That fee alone collected $200 in a month and now people now realize that they need to clean out there car before i will work on it.

Its pointless to try and keep the exterior of my car clean. My driveway is gravel and lined with Pine trees. Theres always mud and dirt down the side of my car and tree sap and bird shit on the windshild and roof. I of course try to clean the birdshit off though because thats just nasty. But my interior, I keep it clean of stuff that can go bad. You'll probably find a newspaper and random nuts, bolts, and wire from several projects Ive tried to do out of my car. But I ALWAYS clean it out when I take it somewhere.

I've had small time stuff. A contractor van caked up with mud all over the place (seats, dash, floor). I've had cars that smell like diseased pu$$y. Cars with antifreeze all over the place due to a busted heater core.
